Overview

Child Health Nursing is the art and science of giving nursing care to children from birth through adolescence with emphasis on the physical growth, mental, emotional and psycho-social development. The department actively participates in training the students to identify the normal growth and development of children and deviation from the normal and do research in the field of child health nursing. We train our nursing students to develop in-depth knowledge, skill and right attitude to function as neonatal and pediatric nurses to provide holistic nursing care to the sick and critically ill children at any given setting.

Objectives

To train the students in developing the knowledge and skills required to respond to health care needs of infants and children and their family in a variety of settings.

To provide student-centered teaching and learning in all areas of child care that helps the students to gain confidence in their child health nursing knowledge and skills.

To provide opportunity to identify the needs of children and provide comprehensive care for children in all age group .

To prepare the students to conduct nursing research in the areas of child health nursing.
