Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) - Regulations

The duration of certified study for the B.Sc. Degree course in Nursing (Basic) shall extend over a period of 4 (four) academic years.

Eligibility for Admission

  • Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc.degree course in Nursing (Basic) should have passed at the qualifying examinations (Academic Stream) after a period of 12 years of study with the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology)
  • Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the principal of the institution a certificate of medical fitness from an authorised Medical Officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the academic Course.

Age Limit for Admission

  • A Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the said age on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year nursing course.

Eligibility Certificate

  • A Candidates, who have passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, shall obtain an Eligibility Certificate before seeking admission to any one of the affiliated Nursing institutions.

Registration

  • A candidate admitted to the course in any one of the affiliated Nursing College shall register with this University by remitting the prescribed fees along with the application form for registration duly filled in and forwarded to the University through the Head of the institution within the stipulated date.

General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) - Regulations

General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) course is a 12th standard Nursing course.

It deals with the field of science and covers healthcare profession focused on the care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life from conception to death. The duration of D.G.N.M Course is Two years. The course is very important and valuable that opens many job options after its completion.

General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) Eligibility

  • The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of Higher Secondary school certificate examination (10+2), with minimum 45 percent marks.
  • Admission is subjected to the satisfactory medical examination report.
  • Female Candidates are eligible to apply.

Age Limit for Admission

  • A Candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission.
  • Maximum age limit up to 35 years.
