Leonard Hospital is located in Batlagundu at the junction of roads into the Western Ghats at the southern face of the Palani Range. Besides this on-the-spot life-saving service in an out-of-the-way venue (otherwise collision cases would be taken to Madurai) our emergency room and intensive care unit are called on to treat obstructive airway diseases, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchiectases, cardiac emergencies, cerebral vascular diseases, surgical emergencies, paediatric emergencies neurological illnesses, seizure disorders and all types of high risk cases.

We treat poison cases stemming from insecticides, oleander seed, chemicals and acids, as well as snake bites and bee stings. Some traumas require intercostal drainage to handle septic shock with multi-organ failure.
